Old style to new style
A date in a parish register or a revision list is written in the old style (the Julian calendar). Convert it to the new style, or the other way round.
Everything is calculated in your browser: the dates you enter and the file you open are not sent to our server and are not stored anywhere.
How many days to add
| Old-style date | Difference |
|---|---|
| up to and including 28 February 1700 | 10 days |
| 29 February 1700 to 28 February 1800 | 11 days |
| 29 February 1800 to 28 February 1900 | 12 days |
| 29 February 1900 until the change in 1918 | 13 days |
29 February 1700, 1800 and 1900 existed only in the old style: in the new style those years are not leap years. In Russia, 31 January 1918 was followed at once by 14 February; from that day civil documents are dated in the new style.
