What is Heritage AI?

A private family archive for your family tree, photos, documents, memories and important family events.

Where do I start?

Create an archive and add one relative, photo or memory. Everything else can be added later.

How do I find ancestors by surname?

Enter an ancestor's surname on the home page and a short plan appears at once, without registration. The full research plan is free inside the service after registration: which documents of that era to look for (parish registers, confession lists, civil registry office (ZAGS) records, wartime documents), which archive of your region to contact, links to databases such as OBD Memorial with your surname filled in, and what to ask relatives. If the tree has places and years of life, the plan suggests the archives of those places. You find the documents yourself: we do not search archives for you.

How do I build a family tree online?

Start with yourself, your parents and grandparents: add the people and mark who is whose parent, and the generations line up by themselves. Dates can be approximate. The tree is free with no limit on the number of people, and a finished tree from another service can be moved over as a GEDCOM file.

Where do I look for an ancestor who fought in the war?

In the open databases Memory of the People (Pamyat Naroda) and OBD Memorial: casualty reports, award documents and unit records. If the tree shows a death in 1941-1945 or military service for a person, the free research plan (after registration) suggests these databases with links. You can also try the free Return the Name route, which needs no registration.

Can I find relatives by surname?

We do not search for people in databases. The research plan does tell you which documents and archives to look in for ancestors with that surname, and you can ask living relatives a question by link: they can answer without registering.

Who will see my data?

You and the people you gave access to: relatives you invited and gave a role, and people you sent a link to yourself.

How safe is it to keep medical data here?

Health records are stored encrypted (AES-256), passwords only as a hash that cannot be read back, and the connection to the site is protected. The health section is locked down more tightly than the rest of the family material. More in the Trust Center.

Can I invite relatives?

Yes. You can invite close relatives and choose what they can see or add.

Can I limit access?

Yes. You choose whom to invite and with what role: some only view, some add and edit. Access can be closed at any time.

What does the AI assistant do?

It helps word a text and put together a draft of the chronicle. You check the facts.

Does the AI publish data by itself?

No. The AI does not publish material or change access to the archive without your action.

Can the AI be wrong?

Yes. Every draft needs checking: names, dates, places and family facts.

Is this a medical service?

No. Heritage AI does not diagnose, give medical advice or replace a doctor.

Is my data used to train models?

No. We do not use personal data or family material to train AI models.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can request deletion of material or of the account in the app, in the Trust Center, or by email to support@heritageai.ru.

Can I export my data?

Yes. People, events and records can be downloaded in the account settings as a ZIP or GEDCOM file, at any time, on any plan.

How much does it cost?

You can start for free, with no time limit. There are two paid plans: Researcher, for finding ancestors (ready letters to archives for all ancestors, an AI assistant with a large allowance, more space and editors), and Family Archive, for keeping the photos, stories and documents of the whole family. Access for a year or a month, one payment for the whole family, no automatic renewal. Family Archive is 2,990 RUB a year at the launch price. Prices and what is included are on the Pricing page.

What documents do I accept?

At registration you see the terms of service, the data processing policy and the required consents. They are in Russian.
